Aloha Maui!

So it's been almost a year since I've blogged...I'm going to try to keep up with this a bit more as I think sometimes blogging may be a good cathartic escape.

But on to my most recent travels...MAUI! I've wanted to go here for the longest time and finally have had the resources to go. Having gone to Oahu several times, I wanted something different..and given the fact that I work and live in the LA area, I wanted to really get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Boy -did I ever get away from the hustle and bustle!!

Maui is absolutely beautiful. It's quiet and secluded. Just what I needed in order to escape from my chaotic work life back home.

We arrived to the Maui Airport early afternoon and picked up our beautiful cherry red Chevy Cobalt! Yes...it's no luxury car, but it got us around and it was kind of cute!

We also stopped by the only Costco on the island to load up on water and snacks...It was probably one of the best ideas we had on the entire trip! We ended up with way too many bottles of water, and way too many apples left over, but like I said, it was a really good decision to stock pile on the necessities!

The ride to the hotel was about 30 minutes and I soaked in the views on our way there...it was breathtaking. Maui has so many faces. On the side of the airport, it's dry and brownish reddish. Then it progresses to a field-like . The other side of Maui is like a rain forest.

During our time there we were able to complete the Road to Hana (absolutely amazing...probably won't ever do it again, but it was definitely worth it!), snorkel in Haunama Bay, hike to Nakalele point to see the amazing blowhole, walk on the black and red sand beaches... It was an amazing trip and I can't wait to see where my traveling adventures take me next. I'm looking forward to some kind of European excursion next year and hopefully Australia/New Zealand the next!
