We're in the double digits for the countdown of the wedding. I cannot believe it! How did this happen and where did the time just go??
We've got so much to do, so much to think about. I don't even know where to start.
Right now, we're focusing on getting our invites out. When we started this venture, we wanted to get really beautiful invites...you know what they say -invitations are a glimpse as to what your wedding will be like. Yeah, no pressure right? Initially I wanted letter press invites, then upon calculating the number of invitations we needed, that idea was nixed (I still long for beautiful letter press invites -maybe for our house warming?!). Next we wanted to look for a local invitation designer -none of them fell through. We were so disappointed. We had very specific needs as we were inviting different people to different parts of our wedding. Some will be going to our cultural wedding ceremony, others our western vow exchange, and the remainder only the reception...so in conclusion, we decided to make our own. We enlisted the help of our amazingly talented friend Vince! He designed these beautiful invites...and now we're going through the arduous task of assembling.
It took such a long time to get the colors right, the type of envelope, the type of paper, the color and sizes of ribbons used, the monogram cut. But below is a glimpse as to what these invites will look like. Overall, I'm pleased! They're not the letter press I've dreamed of, but they're elegant, simple, clean and classic! Enjoy. I'll be posting pictures of our invitation party this weekend -our great wedding party will be assisting with the assembly of all 300ish invites. Aren't they great?!

Cute as a Button!
I saw this on the JLDesigns blog and just swooned. I know. I'm a goober. Totally love that they made a bunch of buttons that said "I love Karen," "I love Dave," and "Dave for president," etc. Such a quirky cute idea. I love that they were pinned to the napkins. I'm not sure if the linen people would appreciate this, but i think it'd be such a cute little addition to the table for some fun! I liked it so much I thought I'd toy with a button of my own with our wedding colors and a red heart.

i <3 sf
I love San Francisco. If I were to drop everything in life and just move somewhere I would definitely consider SF as a top contender. I love the pulse of the city. The food is amazing. The people are nice and original and genuine. Public transportation is great. The history is rich. My 49ers are there. And of course winter clothing never felt so right or looked so good than in SF! ;)
Here are select photos from our trip a few weeks ago. We had an amazing time. When we got back, I couldn't help but think how truly blessed we were to have such wonderful friends/family. A big thank you to Stephanie/Curtis and Tom who were so gracious to take time out of their busy lives to show us the town and entertain us.

Thankful
A day late, but never far from my mind. I'm continually thankful for all the wonderful things in my life: a loving and supportive mom and dad who love me unconditionally; a fun and ever so loving extended family that feels like my own brothers, sisters and moms and dads; a fiance who is by far the best friend I've ever had whom loves me more and more everyday; my health; my often stressful, but rewarding and fun job; for the little things that bring me smiles.
I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving with their friends and families!!

House Hunting
I wish shopping for a house was more like shopping for shoes. Get to the store, browse around, try on a pair that catches your eye, compare them side by side, and choose the best fitting and most adorable looking one! Pshh. Only if. Buying a home is not a purchase, it's a process. No wonder they call it "house hunting." No one shops for a house...they hunt, the prowl and then they get devoured by their mortgage. I guess we're just going to tough this process out, carbo load (oh wait, I can't because I need to fit perfectly into a dress in approximately 5 months and 2 weeks), and be patient.
Rajiv and I are looking for a home in Fullerton, CA. We want something around 1500 square feet, nice kitchen, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a modest backyard with space to entertain our friends and our Bruno. We want it to be in the better parts of the school district -Woodcrest Elementary/Sunny Hills High.
I thought we found the house a week ago...so adorable. I've driven by it twice. I pictured us pulling up into the driveway after work, putting our shoes in the closet, playing with Bruno in the back yard, walking him around in the cute neighborhood. BUT, my dreams came crashing down since there are WAY too many offers. **sigh** Patience is a virtue right?? I'll keep you posted!
